If Version 2.0 fails to start

Some users have reported that EVE Trader fails to start after updating to version 2.0. This seems to be related to a failure in upgrading the database to the newest version and can be solved with the following steps (until I figure out how to manage it in the app):

  • Connect your device to your PC or Mac and start iTunes
  • In iTunes, select your device and go to the apps page (1)
  • Scroll down to the section "File Sharing" and select the EVE Trader app in the left column (2)
  • In the right column, while holding down the CTRL (on a PC) or Command (on a Mac) key, select the files that are named EVETrader.sqlite, EVETrader.sqlite-shm and EVETrader.sqlite-wal (3)
  • Click the "Save to..." button and save the files to any folder on your PC (just to have a backup) (4)
  • Press the Delete or Backspace key to remove the selected files
  • Start eTrader
  • In the "Settings and Tools" - "Account settings" recreate your accounts (or import from disk, if you have previously exported them) and select your characters again.
  • In the "Settings and Tools", select "Import Transactions" with the following option "Delete existing data" and "Latest backups only" to recreate your trading data. This will take a while.
  • Continue making ISK
